Detachment Heinilä

Detachment was active during the Winter War. Commander Capt E. Heinilä 30.11.1939-31.01.1940

All the Squadrons Bulldog biplane fighters was allocated to this detachment until they were handed over to Täydennyslentorykmentti 2 (TLeR 2 - Supplemental Flight Regiment 2) and the Squadron was re-equipped with Gloster Gladiator biplane fighters.


Laplands War

Hävittäjälentolaivue 26 (HLeLv 26 - Fighter Flight Squadron 26) at that time, had only one fighter flight left when hostilities against the Germans was ordered to start on the 1st of October 1944.

Detachment Sarko, named by its commander LtC Sarko, later named as the Detachment 12, was established to coordinate the Finnish Air Forces actions against the Germans in the Lapland. HLeLv 26 was the last Finnish Fighter Squadron to participate wartime actions. It was supported by Lentorykmentti 1 (Flight Regiment 1) when a Myrsky fighter flight and a Fokker CX recon flight were subordinated to HLeLv 26.
